Hello Gordon,
I don't have much expertise to provide info for you. So, I will simply give you my thoughts. Value? Two cents. :-)

Based on my own experience with the learning curve (of which I'm still in), what you are proposing would be EXCELLENT for newbies.
I know I could have used something like this when I began.
> What ONE piece of advice would YOU give to a

> to sowpub)???
DON'T get caught up in the Internet Hype!

I don't feel qualified to give anyone that type of advice ... at least, not yet. :-)
> OR what TIME you wasted in the learning
> process.
My biggest problem was I didn't know HOW to get the info I needed. So, I spent WAY too much time digging, scratching, and trying to find someone who had the answers to my questions.
Which is why I fell into the trap of "Internet Guru Hype."

Hmmm, that comment makes me feel better. Why? Because several times I have thought about quitting. Yet, I keep on keeping on.
On a note: the one time I really thought about tossing in the towel, it was my ISP/Webhost provider who gave me an encouraging pep talk.

1) That it is not simply a matter of putting up a web site, register with the SEs ... and bing, bang, boom ... the traffic FLOODS to your site.
I have gone to "Internet Seminars" where the speakers make internet success sound as easy as slicing warm butter with a warm knife.
Side note: Why do I go? I LOVE going to seminars to listen to the speakers ... and then I critique them in my mind. Hey, some people collect stamps and others collect baseball cards. :-)
2) Where to find HONEST answers based upon TESTING ... not theories!
> I've covered most of my opinions in BYBA,

> increase the RESOURCES section, and trim it

> I'd appreciate whatever help and/or advice
> you can render.
I hope this helps. But as I stated earlier ... it's just my 2 cents worth.
> I'd be glad to include your web site in the
> resource section if you want.
Good luck with your new project, Gordon.
