Hi,

Is there a good downloadable course on how to write good sales-letter bullets? Or is there a book online that covers this subject?

By bullets I mean, of course, those short textoids that take up a lot of space in sales messages and look like:

* How to sell your home faster by taking it _off_ the market!

(That bullet is from Guru Gary's archive, the letter called "Let's do the twist!" which you can read yourself by surfing to:

I've read a lot of good sales and marketing e-books, but have yet to come across one that only discusses bullets. However, I'd suggest you read Scientific Marketing. You can download it from http://www.ebooksnbytes.com .

It's very good, and gets into how to write VERY good sales copy - including one liners that'll knock your socks off. ;)

Hi Boyd,

Gary Halbert has another newsletter on this topic, in addition to the one you linked to.

In this issue, he says you have to go to your local magazine store or library and look at the magazines with lots of "teaser copy" - that is, "bullets" - on the cover. Cosmopolitan is an example he mentions. Then copy down these "teasers" yourself. He copies them on to 3" x 5" index cards.

I thought Sir Gary did a pretty job of demonstrating the methods in this newsletter issue. One of the best discussions I've seen on it is in Paul Hartunian's publicity course. That part was written by Carl Galletti. I think there might be similar information in Brian K. Voiles course. I don't know that I've seen a course specifically on writing bullets.

Do get Gary letter Heck and save them all. And if you willing want to learn them just save your junk mail. And look at the some of the sales copy on the net. Go to key words business, Marketing and have a field day. Another think Mr. Halbert recommends to be a great copyrigher...find could copy and copy the whole article in your hand writing.
