![]() Averaged to 16%.
All done with two-step - classified ad to generate leads, sales letter with floppy to close sale. Trick is to make sure those you send it to have a computer. Otherwise you waste sending floppy disks. It doesn't cost much to give it a go. So run your ad, send your letter with encrypted floppy, and see what happens. Michael Ross |

![]() Hi:
Don Alm had success in the past, as to whether he is still using it that I dont' know. I created 3 products using floppies - not the same as the Magic Floppy - they were Mavica Surprise, PSA (Personal Sales Assistant), My Biz Card. All sold well prior to my selling the rights to all of them. PSA is still being marketed, and the new owner of My Biz Card redid the product and it is now done right online by a unique software designed specifically for that purpose - it is now known as DzPro and located at DzPRo.com I still continue to use floppies for promoting business and products, and almost exclusively use floppies for my business card - only handing out printed ones to people who are still in the dark ages and don't have a computer. ![]() I got the idea for the "Magic Floppy" (a term I coined some years ago) from a CD I received when CD's were just coming out (hasn't been that long)
The CD was from a BIG software company that placed about 20 different ACTUAL programs on the CD. The ad for this CD stated, "For a FREE CD...send $8.95 for postage & handling to...." I thought THAT was pretty good promoting. Then, when I put the CD in my PC it automatically opened and a sales message told about the 20 grand and glorius programs, "THAT WERE ALREADY IN MY POSSESSION!" I HAD THEM in my hand...I didn't have to wait for them to be delivered...or WONDER if they would be delievered after I ordered them BUT....I couldn't get to them and receive the BENEFIT from them unless I called an order desk and gave my CC...then, I would be given a Code to unlock the programs I paid for. I thought, "What an ingenious marketing idea". They have covered the TWO biggest worries of consumers; 1) WHEN would I get that which I ordered and 2) WOULD I, get that which I ordered? There was no wondering, the items were ALREADY in my possession...all I had to do was know the KEY to get to them. I thought that was a great way to sell my "Info" products. Ask people to send $7 or $8 for "Postage & Handling" (This proves they are SEWRIOUS about the item)....place the program in a disk and in the letter that goes along, tell them that they ALREADY HAVE THE PROGRAM!...They can "OWN IT" within minutes of ordering. No guessing when or if it will come...all they have to do to own it is phone my order desk and whala, it's their's. At the time I did not have a CD burner so I compressed some of my Info programs (less than 1.4megs) and gave it a try and IT WORKED! My sales quadrupled. And...nowadays, you can use CD's. Why this has not become "common practice"...I don't know. One thing I do know though, in the year 2003 (now) whenever I use this "marketing technique with CD's)....IT WORKS! And...all you have to do is TRY IT! Prove to yourself it's viability. Don Alm Some of my Unique, money-making programs. |

![]() The magic floppy is an excellent sales tool.
It's easy to create a sense of scarcity, urgency and ownership... an experienced salesmans dream. The fact is technology keeps putting itself forward as *THE* sales tool and it never will be. Excellent sales copy and finding a product a niche *wants* is far more important than the medium Whether you use a parchment, a floppy, or dvd-r unless you have the basic sales skills its all irrelevant. Its just a lot of people see the medium as containing the secret these days... it never was and never can be. Take care, Andy How to sell in the sales resistant Information age (new *free ezine*) |

![]() Andy,
I agree with you 100%. The magic floppy is going to be used as a follow-up, for a real estate course sales letter that is getting a 3-5% closure rate. Im trying to find alternative ways besides a standard follow-up(s) to get the other 95% to buy. ![]() Shawn,
Three to five percent rate of closure on a sales letter is magnificant. Good job. Where would I go to read it? I sell a real estate timing book, timing software, and a real estate timing advisory service ... so I would like to pick up a few pointers from you. Robert Campbell Timing the Real Estate Market |
