Default How would you select an optometrist?

I'm designing a Web site for my optometrist. I want to "do it right" and not just crank out a pretty site that has no chance of helping him grow his practice.

"Dave" and his partners have stronger medical backgrounds than most optometrists; their exams center largely on eye HEALTH issues rather than just on vision assessment (You know... "Is it better with ONE... or TWO?"); and they explain what each of their many diagnostic procedures is all about.

It seems to me that "we focus on the health of your eyes--not just your vision accuity" should be the theme of his site. But what do YOU think?

I would be very, VERY appreciative if you would please take a few seconds to let me know (either here on the forum or by e-mail)...

1. What factor(s) are most important to you when you select an optometrist?

2. What, if anything, do you dislike about "going to the eye doctor?"

3. Other comments??? Are there other sites you'd recommend that I post this message?

In advance of your help... thank you very much!

Default Throbbing Money PUMP for Optometrist Clients

Dear Steve,

Thanks for the great question.

Your answer lies with the STUPID Jiffy glasses Chain stores.

Just do what they do BADLY that makes them millions...

But do it BETTER!

I just answered a "$99 for 2 pr of Glasses - same day ad."

They LIED. Made me MAD.

When I walked in on a 4 pm Friday.

What did I see?

4 women reading romance novels behind a white - spotless counter. Walls of glasses on shelves all around.

NO customers but ME.

Proven Money Making IDEA #1 - A consulting partner and I boosted an optometrists sales by $10,000 a day with a post card mailing to 500 of his 11,000 client list.

We almost killed him with extra business.

Our postcard offer?

3 FREE Eye tests - Usually costing $37 total

He found eye surgery prospects $2000 a pop and dozens needed glasses. Frames - the works. He'd have made more than $10,000 but he couldn't get to all of his clients.

==========================================
Back to my Eye glasses ADventure...

"STUPID" fits!

The eye doctor was one of the women reading - instead of working!

My $99 glasses cost me $197. By the time I paid for sunglass lens. The eye test. I didn't get the fancy frames or it would have been $300.

Action Summary for your website:

Step I - Find out what kinds of eye tests are fast and easy to do.

Step II - Offer 3 or 4 of them- FREE.

Step III - Describe in FREE Reports how each test is done and WHY that eye TEST benefits the prospect.

====================

Proven MEGA-IDEA #2 - These STUPID - Idiots at the Jiffy Glasses place told me their #1 Best Selling Market Strategy was "AMAZING".

So - of course...

"We don't do that anymore"

During their Grand Opening their ads said,

"FREE Eye-Glasses Check-up
By Professional Optometrist - No purchase required"

I quote: "Oh, we stopped doing that. We had lines when we first opened. We paid off the stores and worked like crazy. We did that when we 1st opened up to generate traffic. Now we charge $39.95 for the FREE eye test."

They got GREEDY.

Now the store is empty.

Now they run ads that make people mad. Bait and switch.

$99 for 2 pair of glasses

HA. $99 plus $39 for the eye test, plus the better looking frames at another $100. Plus tinting for sun, plus bifocals, plus, plus!

Action Summary:

Combine, mix and match PROVEN ideas #3 - A mentor raised $300,000 for a local childrens Charity by offering FREE Tooth cleaning, 1/2 price Teeth Whitening - all profit to go to Charity.

The PR program was sent to Dentists by their Dental Labs. The Dentists found 100's of new clients with bad teeth. The Charity got $300,000 in donations.

My mentor's Dentist Training Company made several Millions of dollars. FREE advertising by riding along with the Charity Teeth Whitening Program.

***If I were you - I'd test - A FREE Eye test and check-up - with a voluntary donation - made by the customer to a local Charity... (Canned goods - perhaps)

Which allows you to send Press Releases and get hundreds of thousands of dollars of advertising - FREE - at local radio, TV, newspapers - all driving people to your website...

By the way...

You aren't charging nearly enough - if you add all the above.

Or even part of it to your website services...

Show them the M-O-N-E-Y.

Test it.

Then Blackmail (in a nice way) them to PAY you to set it all into a System...

Cuz without you - your clients won't know how to do any of the above.

Have fun.

Default Excuse me for just a second...

Excuse me for just a second... I have to pick my socks up from the floor 'cause your post just knocked 'em off!

If this is the kind of advice you share free-of-charge on a public forum, I can't wait to go check out what you have for sale on your Web site.

Thank you VERY much for your suggestions, Glenn.
