What can I do with someone who continuously spams me via my website email address, that is forwarded to my personal email address and at my actual personal email address ? I deleted all of the known email addresses he has used to sign up to my newsletter, etc., but, he keeps inventing new email addresses and sending me spam mail.

If I could contact the Police or FBI and catch him I would. I do know his name, however, but, I don't know what city he lives in.

Spamcop is a possibility....
 

The only thing I can think of is to use Spamcop.... At least you might be able to help put the spammer out of business.

I've never used them though, has anyone here had any experience using Spamcop's services?

Two suggestions:

Encrypt your mailto address on your site. It'll thwart the 'bots' that harvest it. Here's a link to a free service: http://www.siteup.com/encoder.html

Then, since you've already made some lists, go to http://www.mailwasher.net. Use the program to download your mail. It allows you to "bounce" mail back to the spammer - he thinks you don't exist, and with luck, you'll be off that list. There's a preview function, and the ability to set up filters, as well.

Save a few of the spams. There are instructions on the net for reading headers. They can hide a lot of stuff, but ultimately, one of the machines will tell on 'em.

Then you can complain up the kazoo. (Uh, carry any complaint as far up the network as you care to.)

One more thing . . .
 

Most likely your spammer is using the same domain to send his junk from. With Mailwasher, you can set it to bounce mail back to that service.

There's a company called optin-global that was sending me a variety of stuff, from the most filthy sexual stuff to things suggesting that I could increase the size of an organ I don't currently possess.

I simply used mailwasher to block the whole domain.

I use Spamcop
 

It works particularly well, since I don't use Outlook as my email program. I also paid to have a spamcop email address and post that now so folks can get ahold of me... and nobody's been stupid enough to try and harvest it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have to check my son's e-mail accounts to make sure they're not getting such junk. They spend most of their Internet time on clothing and sports web sites. I have Norton Internet Security in place to block their access to inappropriate sites. But there's obviously some harvesting going on.
