I couldn't help but think Kurt Saxon as I read your Vision of Roaming Gangs. And I was waiting for the "pistol by the bed, shotgun above the door, a three oh eight for reaching out, you don't need any more" rhyme as a finishing touch.

As Stoddard had so rightly discovered and shared in "The Revolt Against Civilization" the Undermen have indeed toppled past civilizations. However, those civilizations didn't have... TV... Welfare. Two Props, if you will, to help prevent the Upside-Down Population Pyramid from falling over. As Welfare gives them enough food to stop them rioting, and TV keeps them occupied and apathetic.

Gee, they can't hardly drag themselves away from the Box to vote.

Sure, there COULD be gangs building camps throughout the USA. There COULD also be other rival do-gooder gangs building Counter Camps and infiltrating the Bad Camps so they can be Ready. There COULD be lots of stuff going on. Specially with all the IFs thrown in there. Almost like a Bill Myers Letter.

I just don't see widespread internal riots within the US in the next 12 months - unless you're pre-empting for some kind of Race Thing what with the Federal Election coming up and if the Dems lose again (which I don't see).

But am curious... what your Source is that provides you with the information that armed Thugs are about to get organized.

PS. The Etherworld tells me that Big Bertha, the next tropical storm, perhaps first hurricane of the season will begin forming around July 5th...and be fully developed or dissapated by July 10th. The ether is cloudy right now, perhaps from the smoke of the S. CA. fires...but Big BERTHA may pack a wallop...probably up Eastern coast...S. Carolina perhaps. Forecasting is such an iffy deal, even when using such a reliable "source" as the Ether net. HA!
